Weird. I sometimes look down at my feet and realize I'm hanging upside down on a ball that's flipping to and fro whilst being flung around a ginormous ball of fire as we all hurtle round and round inside a thing that is itself flying outward from somewhere into God-knows-what...

Are you saying that Physics shouldn't be kept in textbooks, but in -nomicons?

Reginald! It is all relative! You can view the Earth as being stationary relative to universal space if you want! Beartato! Ditto!

That happens a lot to me too, but I'm a physicist, so they pay me workman's comp for that sort of thing.

I have this vision of the Earth, as seen from space, suddenly skidding to a halt, and then jillions of little cars/people/cranes/cows/trains come flying off the leading side, while the oceans slosh en masse over the half of the planet that just had everything not-bolted-down knocked off...

...point being, when that happens, it pays to make sure you're sitting on a trampoline on the back of the planet.
